CogniK and Egmont sign strategic agreement for the deployment of CogniKizz edutainment platform08 Nov
Kizz TV, the online educational platform for preschool children, was launched twelve months ago in France by CogniK. Egmont, based in Denmark, is a leading Scandinavian media group, with sales of 1.4 billion euros in 2009. With operations in publishing, press, television, film, music and games, Egmont is particularly involved with children with its Egmont Kids Media division. CogniK has signed a strategic partnership with Egmont Kids Media to launch multiple localized versions of Kizz TV across Europe.
Frank Knau, CEO of Egmont Kids Media, shared his ambition: “The values of the Egmont Group and its strong involvement with children give us legitimacy to launch this new online service, both entertaining and educational. We are pleased with CogniK technology and its innovative recommendation engine based on cognitive criteria: it can support the development of young children by offering them personalized edutainment and cognitive development. Thanks to CogniK’s professional services the implementation of our edutainment platform took only a few weeks. The launch of this new service is an important move for Egmont Kids Media; we aim to rapidly grow our range of online services tailored to our audiences.”
Vincent Tauzia, President and Co-Founder of CogniK, emphasizes the significance of this strategic agreement: “This partnership with a major European media company is another milestone in the development of our company: just 18 months after the creation of CogniK, and less than a year following the launch of Kizz TV in France, this agreement demonstrates the relevance of our approach. By providing young children with edutainment content selected for individualized progression, we allow media companies to extend their offering with a differentiating offering that fully meets the parents’ expectations. It has the double benefit of engaging with a target audience and enabling its monetization. Following these early successes, CogniK is bound to accelerate its development by providing its technology to several integrators on IPTV and mobile platforms worldwide.”
